

TEAM RULES
1. Competitors are expected to follow all instructions from their Coach
or Professor.
2. Competitors must approach every training session as a new
opportunity to improve.
3. Competitors must be positive and supportive towards all teammates.
4. Competitors will always perform to the best of their abilities.
5. If a competitor wines, complains or uses excuses before, during, or
after class and/or before, during, or after competitions, they will
receive a warning.
6. Competitors will be required to be doing well in school. Any failing
grade may result to immediate dismissal from the program.
7. Competitors are expected to represent the team, their school and
Gracie Barra to the best of their ability. Behavior or actions not in
line with Gracie Barra values may lead to a warning or/and dismissal
from the program.
8. A high standard will be required from competitors in all aspects of
their lives.
9. Competitors who do not follow instructions, guidelines, or/and rules
will be given a warning. If behavior continues, they will be dismissed
from the class. Further incidents will lead to a meeting with Coach /
Professor, kids and parents and a possibility of being dropped from
the team.
10. Whining, complaining, bad attitude, yelling, holding on to
submissions when someone taps, and not tapping when in danger of
being injured: are all considered infractions of the Guidelines and
Rules. This will lead to a warning.
11. Due to the dangers of using submissions, takedowns, sweeps,
etc… Competitors must be able to understand and follow all rules
involved in competitions and training. Failure to do so can lead to
a warning and/or dismissal from the program.
12. If a competitor is dropped from the program he/she will have to
wait 1 month before re-applying to the team.
13. Competitors are expected to complete (to the best of their ability)
all drills, exercises, homework, and further tasks they may be given
during the program (which will be determined by the Coach /
Professor). Failure to do so will lead to a warning.
14. All competitors must know and be able to recite the Gracie Barra
Student Creed and Competition Team Statement.
15. Parents are expected to be supportive of all instructions required
from their children.
16. Parents must enforce remedial actions or tasks given by Coaches /
Professor.
17. No coaching will be allowed from parents during any of the
classes. If this takes place, one warning will be given to the parent.
The second time, the student may be dismissed from the class.
18. Competition Team practices must be attended, make sure to check the
class schedule and/or changes to the class schedule. For any
schedule conflict or unforeseen circumstances please notify the
Coach / Professor.
19. The student must attend 80% of all Competition Team practices
per month. A maximum of 3 classes can be missed per month. If
the student misses more than what is allowed he / she will be
dismissed from the program.
20. It is strongly recommended that competitors assist in 1 Little
Champion’s Class per month. Please check school’s schedule.
