Rank - Point System Rules

03.15.2015

 

 

1st Ex: Athlete show up to the day of the tournament (2 pts), wins 1st place (9 pts) and had 1 match (1pts) = Total 12 pts

2nd Ex: Athlete show up to the day of the tournament (2 pts), wins 1st place (9 pts) and had 5 matches (5pts) = Total 16 pts

3rd Ex: Athlete show up to the day of the tournament (2 pts), moves up on weight or belt division and wins 1st place (13.5 pts) and had 1 match (1 pt) = Total 16.5 pts

4th Ex: Athlete show up to the day of the tournament (2 pts), moves up on weight or belt division and wins 1st place (13.5 pts) and had 5 matches (5 pts) = Total 20.5 pts

5th Ex: Athlete show up to the day of the tournament (2 pts), moves up on weight or belt division and does not place (0 pts) and had 5 matches (5 pts) = Total 7 pts

6th Ex: Athlete show up to the day of the tournament (2 pts), decides not to move up on weight or belt division (0 pts) and had no matches (0 pts) = Total 2 pts

7th Ex: Athlete signs up but does not show up to the day of the tournament (0 pts), because of sick, etc… = Total 0 pts

 

*In case that the athlete gets invited or decides to fight an extra division on a single tournament. Only the points for one of the divisions will be credited. (the best one)

** For any unforeseen situation at any tournament, the coaches will get together and have the final saying on how the points will be credited.

***In the event of a tie, the MVP will be determined by the number of tournaments attended.

****If there is still a tie, the MVP will be determined by who attended the most practices.

*****If there is still a tie, the MVP will be determined by who had the highest finish starting with the Pan Ams, Worlds, and GB Compnet.

First Season MVP
Luke Penick

Grey Belt Luke Penick, 9 years old, won the first season's most valuable player award earning 33 points with a 1st place and 2nd place finish at GB Compnet and American Nationals, respectively.

Second Season MVP
Jaden Eun

Grey Belt Jaden Eun, 11 years old, won the second season's most valuable player award amassing a staggering 50 points by medaling at five different tournaments. His 2nd season resume includes a 1st place finish at GB Compnet, 2nd place finishes at Kids Worlds and NABJJF, 3rd place finishes at Kids Pan Ams and Dream Jiu Jitsu.

Stone Fightmaster

Yellow and White Belt, 8 years old, won the third season's most valuable player award achieving a all time record of 84 points by medaling at five different tournaments. His 3rd season resume includes two 1st place finishes at IBJJF Nationals & IBJJF Pan Kids, three 2nd place finishes at Kids Worlds, IBJJF International and GB CompNet.

Grey Belt, 9 years old, won the fourth season's most valuable player award achieving 37points under the new point system by medaling at four different tournaments. His 4th season resume includes two 1st place finishes at Copa Pacifica and NABJJF LA Open, one 2nd place finish at GB Compnet and one 3rd place at Kids Worlds.

Mikey Walshe

Orange Black Belt, 11 years old, won the fifth season's most valuable player award achieving 42.5 points under the new point system by getting first place in all three tournaments of the season. His 5th season resume includes 1st place finishes at Dream Jiu Jitsu, GB Compnet and SJJF Worlds competing on a higher age division.

Drew LaPalme

07.01.2016

Grey and Black Belt, 8 years old, won the sixth season's most valuable player award achieving 41 points under the new point system by getting first place in all three tournaments of the season. Drew won every single match he had (8). His 6th season resume includes 1st place finishes at Compnet, IBJJF Kis Pan and LA Open. Drew became a two time Pan Champion. And has also a World Title under his belt.

Seventh Season MVP
Jack Mills

Grey and Black Belt, 13 years old, won the seventh season's most valuable player award achieving 46 points under the new point system by getting three first places and one second place in all four tournaments of the season. Jack won seven matches out of eight. His 7th season resume includes 1st place finishes at NABJJF Nationals in Arizona, Compnet, Dream Jiu Jitsu and second place at SJJF Worlds. 

Eight Season MVP
Robert Maley

07.01.17

Grey and Black Belt, 13 years old. He won the eight season's most valuable player award, achieving 79.5 points under the new point system by getting six first places in all six tournaments of the season. Robert won nine matches out of nine. His 8th season resume includes 1st place finishes at NABJJF All American, IBJJF Pan Kids, GB Compnet, NABJJF Grand Canyon Open, Jiu Jitsu World League and NABJJF L.A Open.

Ninth Season MVP
Riley Morales

12.15.17

Grey Belt, 7 years old. She won the ninth season's most valuable player award, achieving 48 points under the new point system by getting three first places in all three tournaments of the season. Riley won six matches out of six. Her 9th season resume includes 1st place finishes at, Jiu Jitsu World League,  GB World Summit and NABJJF OC Open. She also attended a few extra tournaments including winning a 2018 Belt for an invitation-only tournament at Jiu Jitsu World league. Lastly, this spectacular season performance Riley earned he official BJJ nickname "Samuriley"!
